My name is Michael Parker West. I'm an educator, a school leader, and a relentless student of the history and context of our public schools. I believe that if more of us understood how we got here—both in education and beyond—we’d be better equipped to make informed, just, and meaningful decisions.

I believe we have a fundamental problem with truth-telling in America. That’s why we say, The Way Out is Back Through, because the way forward has to start by confronting where we've been—and to be honest about it. 

This podcast is about doing that work, and I'm so grateful to have you on this journey with me.
